With summer weddings, freelance work and school, things are beginning to pile up. I'll off for a week or two, but have some great tidbits to share with you when I get back.

Have You Loved Your Google Today?

Something new from the South African Tourism Board and Google Earth. You can now do a virtual tour of South Africa, using Google's maps. You can learn more about sites, cultures and wildlife... or plan your trip to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Super!

For more precise details, you'd best go to the Google LatLong blog... as you may well know, no one should be taking technical directions from me!

Crocheting Jewellry

Yesterday I wore a bracelet my mom bought me, it's just gorgeous (here it is with its matching necklace).

It reminded me to let you know that the jeweller had found this blog (that's why I love blogging: all the great people you meet!) Lana creates the Mio range by crocheting the pieces together, which I didn't realize until she mentioned it and I took a closer look at the bracelet. Unbelievable. Here's what she said:
"All the jewels are handmade by myself ... The pieces you have are crocheted and come in brass, copper, and white metal (like stainless steel) that specific range is called MIO. I also do fine jewelry in silver, gold and platinum."

I did convince Lana that she should consider shipping to the States, which she is open to, so get in contact with me if you'd like to learn more!

PS: Watched the 46664 concert last night... how disappointing. VH1 edited it to death, they didn't show any of the South African acts. I completely understand that this was cut for an American audience, but how do we get to know each other when we are not exposed to each other's art, music and all that good stuff? Instead, we get to see Amy Wine-o teetering around the stage for the whole hour and a half.Joy.
